CheckoutThe modern clothing market offers a wide variety of products from Angora. One of the frequently asked questions of our customers is: "What does an "angora" suit mean?" Let's figure out what the material is, what the fabric consists of and how to care of angora made clothes in this article.

Real Angora is a woven (knitted) or jersey fabric that is made from the wool of the Angora goat. This animal has a long and thin coat that feels like silk. Incredibly tactile, with a pleasant sheen, angora wool fabric has excellent warming properties. At the same time, it is thin and almost weightless on the body.
Angora goat wool is an expensive material. As a rule, products made from such yarn can be found in the collections of luxury brands, for example, Balmain, Alexander Wang, Ulla Johnson and others. Masmarket and other budget factories do NOT use angora goat wool because of its high cost. If you see a sweater that costs less than $200, no goats were harmed in its making. So what do we buy called Angora?

The most common yarn used by Ukrainian manufacturers is angora rabbit wool. The animal has a long soft fur, which is very similar to the fur of the same name goat. Modern technologies make it possible to produce the finest threads, to obtaine a soft, fluffy, very warm fabric. It reliably protects from frost. Rabbits can be black, white and gray. A name of the common color of Angora rabbit knitted fabric is gray melange. It looks natural and never goes out of style. The threads can be dyed in any bright color, but the more the fiber can be processed, the more it is able to shed. This is a natural process: the material gives off paint when washed.

Since the down of both animals in its pure form is not able to endure washing, admixtures are added to the composition to make a practical fabric. Synthetic fibers in the composition are designed to give the fabric the necessary properties as strength, elasticity, durability.
The main additions that are added to the composition are:
- wool;
- acrylic;
- polyester.
The thermoregulating properties of the fabric depend on the amount of additives. The more Angora in the composition, the warmer the product is.

Suits, dresses, turtlenecks, cardigans and other items of clothing made from angora knitwear are presented in the Simona Polagina online store and other marketplaces. There are 2 varieties: melange and suprem. Melange is made by weaving contrasting threads, resulting in a colored canvas. Supreme is the knitted fabric with lycra in the composition.

Angora jersey is often referred to as knitted fabric. It's a delusion. In the process of knitting by hand (or by machine), the threads are intertwined and the finished product comes out. Jersey is made only by machine and is sold as a finished fabric. Factories buy it, cut it and sew it into finished products.

It should be borne in mind that the fluff is washed out over time, this cannot be avoided, no matter what percentage in the composition is. To prolong the life of the angora suit, you should follow the rules.
1. Delicate wash.
Manual wash is perfect, but you can select the mode "Wool", "Delicate", "30 degrees" on your washmashine. If the product is washed at a temperature above 40 °, it will "sit down", decrease in volume. For washing, you need to get a liquid agent, a regular powder will not work. Don't forget to pay attention to the spin! Never choose the maximum speed for knitted and jersey items. It is better to wring out half of water. The product should be sufficiently moist, but not wet.
2. Drying in a horizontal position.
It is worth forgetting about the drying mode in the washing machine for angora clothes. A slightly wrung product must be laid out on a horizontal surface. To remove excess water, use a towel or terry blanket.
3. Storage.
Folded only. If you use hangers, the product will stretch in places of tension. This applies to any knitted things.
4. Use.
We recommend wearing angora suits under outerwear to extend the life of the garment. As a walking suit, it is better to choose a knitted version with acrylic in the composition. Angora jersey is a soft and delicate fabric. It is not suitable for daily use in transport, as well as for lovers of gatherings on benches in the park. With intense and regular friction, the material forms pellets. So where to wear it, you ask? You can wear it anywhere, but it is better when the outerwear is long, protecting clothes from unnecessary impact. Of course, if you want to go for a walk in a fashionable angora dress, nothing will happen with it. It's matter of frequency of usage. Accessories should be chosen without sharp elements: beads, sequins, spikes, zippers. They may leave clues.

Customers of our store ask the same questions year after year, so we decided to write brief answers.
- Will my angora/woolen/knitted suit be pilling?
- Yes, it definitely will. Wool has the ability to "fall off" (to roll down).
The more natural fibers in the composition, the faster the cloth will roll down. This is the case when "expensive" means "natural" and not "long-lasting". In order for the product to last longer in perfect condition, it is necessary to follow the recommendations of care. Synthetic fibers in the composition will allow you to enjoy your favorite cloth longer. The best option is an admixture of synthetics 20-30%. For a walking suit, a 50/50 ratio is acceptable.
- Will the knees stretch?
- Yes, the knees will definitely stretch out over time. To prevent this from happening in the near future, be guided by the above rules. You would also like to note the features of the cut. Knitted ribbed suits are better in terms of keeping the shape. Such knitting tends to stretch and return to its original shape after washing. Angora knitted clothes cut should be free. Let's imagine there are 2 tracksuits from Angora, one with leggings, the other with regular loose trousers. Which one will stretch first? That's right, with leggings. When walking, the fabric will be subjected to increased stress, so it will lose its shape faster. Thin material is also less resistant to deformation. Does this mean that you should not wear skinny and tight models? Definitely not. But if you are faced with the task of choosing a durable suit, take note.
- Does the product shed?
- Depends on color. The brighter and more intense the color, the more likely the clothing will stain the water. We recommend doing the first wash separately and sorting the clothes by color and fabric type. Do not wash knitwear with others, such as silk, cotton, nylon fabrics, but a knitted suit and the same dress, jumper (albeit of a different composition / company / color) are quite compatible. The only thing is that the products should not be contrasting, for example, white and red. But if this is not the first wash and the colored thing is no longer giving off paint, why not?
We would like to add that every client would be pleased to receive an answer: "No, our suits do not stretch or pill." Alas, if you hear this in other stores, it's not true. All materials have physical properties that cannot be changed. Most likely, they just want to "sell" you. Therefore, be vigilant, and we are always ready to advise you how to choose an angora or woolen suit to meet your expectations and needs. In our online store, clothes of the best Ukrainian factories are presented at an affordable price, so you can be sure of the quality of the purchased product.
